Our Story

The Barranco Family and Staff are your neighbors who will stand by your side during a very difficult time. We see you around the community, in church, at the store and at community events. You may find comfort knowing that a friend or familiar face is there to assist you.

We believe our community is important and want to help make it a great place to live.

We volunteer and provide support for many community organizations such as Hospice of the Chesapeake, Local Churches, Partners in Care, SPAN, Anne Arundel County Police and the Earleigh Heights Fire Department.

We are here to help every family in our community with caring and professional services.

In 1960, Robert and Catherine Barranco decided to move to Severna Park to build the funeral home.   The community was a small town at the time and Robert "Bob" and Catherine "Kitty" knew Severna Park was a great place to live, work and raise their family. They also loved boating and wanted to be close to the rivers and the bay.

Bob and Kitty had three sons and a daughter,  Bob, Jim, John and Carolyn.  Over the years, they all have served the community through the funeral home.  John's daughter, Kathleen Barranco Bollino, became a funeral director in 2017.

Today, when many funeral homes are owned by large corporations or operate out of multiple locations, the Barranco Family and staff are here, at our one funeral home, to meet the needs of our local community.

Catherine Barranco, John Barranco, Kathleen Barranco Bollino and Carolyn Barranco Russell, with a dedicated staff, make it our mission to provide personal service to honor lives and comfort loved ones.
