Matt Benoit (née George M. Benoit) passed away on August 15, 2024, at his home in Thurmont, MD. He was born on June 3, 1972, in Wiesbaden, Germany, where his late father was stationed. He was the son of the late George A. Benoit and Patricia J. Benoit.

As the son of an Air Force veteran, Matt lived in many places during his childhood, including Germany, Texas, Ohio, and Maryland. Known for his sense of humor and goofiness, Matt brought laughter to those around him. Though he faced personal struggles, he showed courage and perseverance in his journey through life.

A talented construction worker, Matt had a special skill with a paintbrush and was known for his eye for color. He also had a deep love for music, excelling as a guitarist. Most importantly, Matt was a devoted Christian. He actively served his community through FCF Church's Local Missions team, the Water Boyz, and The Men's Fraternity, touching many lives with his kindness and faith.

Matt is survived by his fiancée Aysem Pelletier, his daughters  Emily and Rebecca Benoit, Sabrina Pelletier and his cherished granddaughter, Leia Saperstein. He is also survived by his sisters Natalie Haviland and Allison Waggy, and his brother Douglas Benoit.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Barranco Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, with a funeral service immediately following.
