G. Ronald (Ron) Bower of Arnold, MD formerly of Riverton, NJ passed away at home on January 17, 2020, following an extended illness.

Born in Salisbury, MD on February 13, 1935, he was the son of the late George W. and Gerry Bower of Salisbury. Survivors include his devoted wife of 42 years, Elaine Bower, 2 daughters Michele Bower-Alvarado of Houston, TX and Nancy Guthrie (John) of Roswell, NM; son Randy Bower of Galveston, TX, and his brother, Bruce Bower (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL. In addition he leaves behind 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ron graduated from Wicomico High School Salisbury in 1953. He attended Wesleyan University, CN prior to enlisting in the Army where he served in Germany as a linguist. He later graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ron's hobbies included reading, woodworking and boating. His passion was sailing which he shared with his wife. He served 3 terms as commodore of the Riverton Yacht Club in Riverton, NJ where he was honored as a life member. He was a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club. He was very handy and enjoyed sharing his skills and knowledge with others.
