Craig Snoops, 68, of Millersville, Maryland, passed away on November 6, 2021.
Craig was born on August 17, 1953 and spent his childhood in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1971 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Baltimore in 1976. On July 30, 1979, he was certified as a CPA, then completed his MBA with a concentration in Finance at Loyola College in 1981. He married Bernadette Snoops on August 28, 1982, and together they raised two children, Whitney and Garrett.
Craig served 12 years in the United States Army Reserve from May 8, 1978 through January 10, 1990, Craig was a Second Lieutenant, Reserve in the United States Army.
Craig spent the majority of his career in the supermarket industry, specifically at Lauer's Supermarket. He served as Chairman of the Mid Atlantic Food Dealers Association and the fifth president of the Pasadena Business Association.
Craig had a huge heart and loved his family deeply. He was quick to share that he had thirty nieces and nephews, and would brag about them to anyone that would listen. Throughout his life, he spent many summers vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland with his mother — and later on with his wife and children.
Craig had a passion for numbers. He followed the stock market daily and frequently sent stock recommendations to his children. He also supported them through years of sporting events and continued to follow the teams his children coached as their number one fan. Craig's passion for sports carried over to the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, attending many home games over the last few seasons.
Craig was also actively involved with Youth Suicide Awareness (YSA) of Anne Arundel County and Parenting for a Different World. Both groups focus on suicide prevention among youth.
Craig is preceded in death by his mother Hilda Mae Snoops and father Charles Allen Snoops.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bernie Snoops, his two children, Whitney Snoops (Jess Hicks) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Garrett Snoops of Baltimore, Maryland. He also leaves behind his sister Dorothy Levi (Phil Miskimon) of Bushnell, Florida, his brother Larry Snoops (Karen) of Baldwin, Maryland, his sister Caroline Snoops of Honolulu, Hawaii, and his brother Phillip Snoops (Tracy) of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was also known as Unc to his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 2 pm at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.
