Wilma Beahm, 91, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bowdon, Georgia on June 23, 1925 to John Thomas and Lucy McKibben, but was reared in Atlanta where she graduated from Girl's High School. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Major Carroll R. Beahm, Jr. She was a devoted military wife who followed her husband to numerous Army posts around the world, including Texas, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and Japan. Wilma was on President Ronald Reagan's transition team. She devoted many hours to the Retired Officers' Wives club and was active with the Main Post Chapel at Fort Meade. She also volunteered at the Red Cross and Kimbrough Army Hospital. Wilma taught Sunday School at Colonial Baptist Church and later at Severna Park Baptist Church. Wilma is survived by her three children, Brigadier General Robert Beahm (Janette), Lieutenant Colonel Richard Beahm (Michelle) and Carol Turman (Lieutenant Commander Robert). She is also survived by three grandchildren (David, Robert (Caity), and Jessica) and a great-granddaughter (Olivia). Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 7, 2016 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00pm.
