William “Bill” Kenneth Woody, 79, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on November 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. Born on June 20, 1946, to Joseph and Frances Woody, Bill grew up in Morrell Park in Baltimore, Maryland.

He graduated from Southern High School in 1964, where he played percussion in the school band. Bill served in the Army National Guard and was proud of his country. He then began a distinguished career as a professional land surveyor and co-founded KCW Engineering Technologies, Inc. in 1979, where he proudly represented the “W” in KCW. Bill successfully led his company for more than 35 years and was deeply respected in his business community. Before settling in Pasadena, Bill lived in Arbutus, Maryland.

Bill was a member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors. Outside of work, he cherished time with his family, enjoyed fishing, and loved to travel. He often said that sharing his blessings with others was among his greatest joys — a philosophy he lived by every day.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 26 years, Sharon Woody (née Calfee), and his sister-in-law, Lois Woody. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carla Woody; his daughters, Kimberly Groves (Jerry) and Melissa Walker (David); six grandchildren — Lennon Groves, Kendall Groves, Houston Walker, Madeline Walker, Alivia Walker, and Aleia Walker; and two siblings, Joseph Woody and Elmira Cascio (Mike).

A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, December 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at Bay Area Community Church, with lunch to follow. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of his remarkable life. A celebration of life will be held in June.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the T Harris Captain’s Scholarship at Carteret Community College in memory of Bill’s dear friend and captain, Tom Harris (“T”), whose life was tragically lost in October. Tom was like a son to Bill, and this scholarship will help students in Maritime Studies pursue their dreams. To contribute, please visit Carteret Community College Foundation and select the T Harris Captain’s Scholarship.
