William Edward "Bill" Stinchcomb, 72, of Noblesville, Ind., and formerly of Florida and Severna Park, died Aug. 27 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 19, 1934, in Annapolis, Mr. Stinchcomb was reared in Severna Park where he lived until 1993.
He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956.
He retired in 1993 from McCormick Spice Co., where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for 23 years. Previously, he worked for Maryland Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. and Kennicott Copper Co.
He was a member and trustee of the Church of the Nazarene and a member of American Legion Post 148 and Moose Lodge 1456, all in Riverview, Fla. His interests included camping, fishing and travel.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Stinchcomb; two daughters, Deborah Allison of Glen Burnie and Patricia Joy of Severna Park; one son, Edward Stinchcomb of Stuttgart, Germany; two stepdaughters, Linda Baun and Pamela Louks, both of Noblesville; one brother, Robert Stinchcomb of Riverview, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His first wife, Naomi Stinchcomb, died in May 2000.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
