William Francis Ropko, of College Park, passed away on April 11, 2021 at the age of 90. He was born on April 8, 1931 to Joseph and Anne Ropko in New Kensington, PA. He was raised in New Kensington and in Greenbelt, MD and attended Greenbelt High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Francis was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and the Polish National Alliance. He was Commissioner of the College Park Boys and Girls Club for 7 years. Francis enjoyed sports and spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan E. Ropko; his son Michael Ropko and his wife Tina Ropko of Germantown, MD; his daughters Cynthia Ropko Feltner and her husband Randy Feltner of Winchester, VA, and Roxanna Kay Ropko of Arnold, MD; as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home chapel. Interment is to follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.

Coronavirus Restrictions:

Visitations at the Funeral Home is limited to 60 people at any one time.  The limit for a Visitation with a Service immediately following will be 50 people due to the space the chairs occupy.  Our staff will monitor attendance and assist visitors if there is a wait to enter the funeral home.  Services at the Funeral Home are limited to 50 people.  For everyone's safety inside the Funeral Home masks must be worn that cover both the nose and the mouth.
