Dr. William F. Martin Jr., 75, a resident of Annapolis since 1959, died of heart failure Dec. 8 at home after a brief illness.
Dr. Martin was born July 27, 1929, and reared in Baltimore. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, the University of Maryland College Park and in 1955 from the University of Maryland Dental School. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska, in the Dental Corps.
A practicing dentist for 47 years in Baltimore and Towson, he was a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, where he was a trustee, and the Baltimore City Dental Society, where he was past president.
He was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. He also belonged to the Boy Scouts, Baltimore Council, and the National Association of Parliamentarians. He taught safe boating classes for 25 years for the Power Squadron and enjoyed boating, gardening and building model ships.
He was the brother of the late Jane Brice-McCauley.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Jean Timanus Martin, whom he married in July 1955; one son, Dr. William F. Martin III of Annapolis; one daughter, Susan J. McEvoy of Leonardtown; one sister, Ellen Walters of White-
ville, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
