William (Bill) Martin Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2014 of natural causes. Bill was born on October 27, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. He enlisted in the Navy, when he was only 16, to serve his country during World War II. He later served in the Korean conflict as well.

He and his wife Virginia lived in Chartwell for 25 years and loved their time there. He enjoyed golf, a little poker and Happy Hours were always a favorite! He retired to Sarasota, Fl. and spent the last 25 years enjoying his retirement time.

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia; two children, William Martin, Jr. and Deborah Vaughn and her husband Bryan; four grandchildren, William Martin III, Sarah Martin, Michael Vaughn, Bryan Vaughn and two great grandchildren, Dreavyn Martin and Zander Martin.

A private ceremony will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville on Thursday.
