William Lloyd Luke, 89, of Annapolis, died of natural causes Sept. 10 at Knollwood Manor Nursing Home in Millersville after a brief illness.
Born June 29, 1917, in Baltimore, Mr. Luke was reared in Pikesville and lived in the Northwood and Hamilton areas of Baltimore.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel Shipbuilding and Repair in the layout department, building Liberty ships for World War II.
He was the owner of a home improvement construction company and subsequent president of Petroleum Services Inc., which built service stations.
His interests included camping, boating, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Annapolis Elks.
His wife, Opal Marie Luke, died March 16, 1996. Surviving are two sons, William I. Luke of Lusby and Jon D. Luke of White Marsh; two daughters, Pamela A. Bowen of Odenton and Mary Beth McCaslin of Arnold; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Forest Drive. Online condolences can be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com
