Huddleston Jr.
April 21, 1955 – February 2, 2006
William Richard Huddleston, Jr. a resident of Severna Park since 1980, died at home on February 2, 2006. He had battled melanoma for two and half years.
Born in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1955, Mr. Huddleston is the son of William R. Huddleston, Sr. and Lois Lawton Huddleston of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania and Tamarac, Florida. He graduated from Shaler Area High School in 1973 and from Grove City College in 1977. While at college he met his future wife, Ellen Barrie Huddleston. They were married in 1978. Mr. Huddleston is also survived by two children, a daughter, Emily, of Annapolis and a son, William, of the home and Elon University, a sister, Susan Fisher of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, and a brother, Thomas Huddleston, of Sewickly, Pennsylvania and seven nieces and nephews.
Since his graduation from college in 1977, Mr. Huddleston was employed by Westinghouse Corp, now Northrop Grumman at both the Electronic Systems Division in Linthicum and the Oceanic Division at the Bay Bridge. At the time of his death Mr. Huddleston was Manager of Payroll and Labor Accounting for the Electronic Systems Division of Northrop Grumman.
During his twenty-six years in Severna Park Mr. Huddleston was an active volunteer in the community. He coached numerous Green Hornet baseball and soccer teams, volunteered extensively for the Severn River Swim Club swim team, served as president of the West Severna Park Community Association and worked with two different youth-focused Habitat for Humanity groups, Youth United and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church's high school mission trip, WoodsWork. He was an active member of Woods Church. He enjoyed cooking, sports and spending time with his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on at Woods Memorial Church on February 7 at 4:00 pm. Immurement in the church columbarium will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Huddleston's name to the WoodsWork, a youth Habitat for Humanity mission at Woods Memorial Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Severna Park, MD 21146.
