William Raymond Godwin, 91, a resident of Severna Park passed away June 17, 2017 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

He was born on October 5, 1925 to William and Martha Godwin in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

William served in the U.S. Army, 9427 ^th Technical Service Unit.  He received his Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland and was employed with Westinghouse.

He served as Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scouts of America for many years and enjoyed canoeing and camping.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jean Everette Godwin and a sister, Doris Galloway.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence Godwin of Pasadena, MD; son David Godwin of Halethorpe, MD; and daughter, Susan Godwin of Fairbanks, AK. He is also survived by his brother, Gilbert Godwin and a sister, Marian Snedecor.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10 AM in Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032.
