William F. Gallagher, Jr., of Annapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14th, 2023.

He was born on May 11, 1925 to William F. Gallagher, Sr. and Frances A. (nee Connolly) in Washington, DC. Bill grew up Southeast Washington, D.C. He attended St. Peter's Catholic school and graduated from Gonzaga High School. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Navy. In 1950 he graduated from The Catholic University of America. He then lived in Hyattsville, MD with his wife, Norma and their three children, Tom Judy, and John. In 1985 they both retired to Annapolis, MD.

Bill worked at NASA in Greenbelt, MD for 25 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. After his wife's passing, in February of 1990, Bill married Lorraine LaFontaine in November 1993. They spent their time between living in Annapolis and South Portland, Maine.

Bill is survived by his three children, Tom (Cindi), of Severna Park, Judy (Roger), of Clarksville, MD, John (late, Cathy), of Bowie, MD; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie, Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146, at 11:00 am. The burial will be private.
