William "Bill" Fisher, 79, of Annapolis, MD on June 14. A devoted husband of 46 years, father, grandfather, and friend to all, Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
Born on August 31, 1932, Bill was raised in locations throughout the Eastern shore of Maryland, later in Eastport, and finally in Annapolis. Bill loved telling stories and silly jokes, and took great pride in having people fall for the same joke over and over again. Bill cared so much for people, always asking them to "come on over if you get a chance" and "what's your rush?" when they tried to leave. His obvious joy in the simple things in life made others smile throughout his life and right up to his death.
Bill served in the National Guard and later in the US Army, bravely fighting in the Korean War for the country he loved. While he would never discuss his time there, he took great pride in serving his country and was quick to thank others for doing the same. Always a gentleman with a gentle soul, Bill will surely be missed by many.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Nora; two children, William P. Fisher of Marydel, MD, and Michelle Ogden of Grasonville, MD; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and two of his four sisters.
