William F. Burgess Sr. of Severna Park passed on June 13, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. "Bill" spent most of his 76 years of life in "Linstead" on the Severn River. Bill loved living on the water and having people enjoy their beach and pier. He was an avid fan of the Ravens and the O's.
Professionally, Bill provided for his family working in the Printing Industry. Early in his career, he worked for the Baltimore Sun, The New York Times, The Daily News, and The Washington Post. Majority of his professional career was spent at the Government Printing Office in Washington DC (1965-1997) After a 15 day retirement, he was elected President of his local union (CTU101-12) where he served office until 2008.
Bill loved his country and served proudly in the Army in the 1950's.

Outside of his professional career, Bill volunteered a lot of his time and supported his community in a number of organizations. He is a former Captain in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, a District Regional Director in the Alhambra, a Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus in Severna Park, and an Usher/Eucharist Minister at Saint John's the Evangelist, where he was a parishioner for over 45 years!

He is survived by his wife (Jackie) of 49 years, his 4 children (Bill Jr. Jackie, Anne Marie, and John). He has 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren to carry on his legacy of compassion and hard work.

Friends may visit on Wednesday June 17 and Thursday June 18, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday June 19, 2015 at 10:30am in the St. Mary's Catholic Church 109 Duke of Glouchester St. Annapolis, MD 21401.
