William James "Jim" Brower, Jr., 83, of Severna Park, died on December 12, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Brower was born on March 6, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, where he was also raised. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1943 and worked as a self-employed professional land surveyor.
Mr. Brower served in the United States Navy Sea Bees and was a watertender 3rd class during WW II and the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking, especially building violins.
Mr. Brower is survived by four sons, Daniel J. Brower of Chestertown, MD, Thomas C. Brower of Arnold, MD, Timothy P. Brower of Berlin, MD and James J. Brower of Severna Park, MD; nine grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie Brower who died in 2007; his father, William J. Brower, Sr.; his mother, Helen Ellis; and his stepfather, George R. Ellis.
Friends may visit at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 at the funeral home with the interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
