William Ball, 78, a resident of Severna Park, MD died on September 8, at Genesis ElderCare in Severna Park, due to natural causes.

He was born 1930 in Westchester, NY and was raised in Mahopac, NY and resided in Severna Park most recently.

Mr. Ball was married to Ruth Hauck for 56 years. He was a resident of Sommerford Assisted Living in Annapolis, MD and most recently of Genesis ElderCare in Severna Park, MD.

He attended the New York State University in Delhi, NY and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Ball retired from Verizon where he worked for over 40 years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Shrub Oak, NY. He was also a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ball enjoyed bowling, boating, camping, and traveling with his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother Lee H. Ball, Jr.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Ball (nee Hauck) of Severna Park, MD; two daughters, Heather Briganti of Severna Park and Deborah Lawrence of Hyattsville, MD; twin brother, Harry Ball of Tucson, AZ, and four grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Severna Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.
