Wayne M. Smelter, 61, of Glen Burnie, passed away on October 15, 2018 at the Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center in Pasadena after a lengthy illness.
Wayne was born to his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Smelter on July 21, 1957 in Baltimore and was raised in Brooklyn Park where he attended St. Rose of Lima and Brooklyn Park High School. He later was employed as a Fault Technician with Baltimore Gas and Electric, where he worked for over 40 years. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved cooking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie Smelter; his son, Christopher Smelter (Laura Campbell) of Newark, MD; his daughter, Jennifer Mullins (Dustin Mullins) of Glen Burnie; his brother, Walter Smelter, III of Bishopville, MD; his sister, Patricia Ashburn of Pasadena; as well as, his grandchildren, Hayden, Cameron, Cole, Mason, and Caroline.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, October 19th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 20th at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
