Walter J. Ward Jr., of Millersville, died peacefully on September 17 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
Walter was born August 7, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to Mary Ambrose and Walter Ward Sr.
Walter worked for nearly 50 years in the construction sales field. During that time, he regularly received accolades and recognition for his accomplishments. He was known for his sense of humor, his honesty, and big personality.
He loved classic movies, trivia, music of all kinds, and baseball—Walter was an enthusiastic Orioles fan. He was known to be a formidable opponent to anyone who challenged him to scrabble. He spent his later years travelling the world, visiting Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Alaska, the Caribbean, and all over the continental U.S.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ward, and son, Jason Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Ward; his son, Michael Ward of Baltimore; his sister Stuart Barnes of Bel Air; his brother David Ward of Washington; and nephew Chuck Ziegler of Bel Air.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday September 21, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. & 5-7 p.m. in the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be privateVisits: 1
