March 22, 1940 – July 24, 2022
Wallace Edmond Timmons, 82, passed away on July 24, 2022. In addition to his parents Arthur and Sylvia Timmons, Wally was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary Lucio, his brothers Allan and Roger and much loved brother-in-law Tom Harris. He is survived by his daughters: Kelly Sloskey, her husband David, Stacy Early her husband Dan, Jill Royston and her husband Aaron (Zack). He was Daddad to grandchildren Ben and Kristen Sloskey, Jason and Alissa Price and Evan Royston. He will be dearly missed by his brother Arthur, his sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and the family of Mary Lucio.
Wally grew up on Beaumont Ave in Baltimore, Maryland; he attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute High School, and served in the U.S. Army at Herzo Base Germany 1957- 1960.
Wally retired in 2005 from a long and dedicated career as an Operations Manager in the waste management industry. Wally specialized in keeping teams motivated even when they were working to close the landfill. He had expertise in cell construction and capping enclosure operations. He managed facilities in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, and Louisiana following hurricane Katrina.
He married his former wife, Cindy Wilson (nee Benner) in January 1963. They started a family and lived in Bowie for several years before settling in Cape St. Claire.
Wally bought a boat in the late 70's. The time he spent with his daughters sailing inspired a love of being on the water in each of them. He was an active member of Yacht Club Cape St. Claire.
Wally enjoyed family vacations in Ocean City, playing the slot machines, the annual Halloween party, Christmas train in Delaware and Cookie Day in Toledo, NASCAR, and watching Raven's football.
In their many years together he and Mary were great supporters of their grandchildren's school and sport activities.
Wally was a kind, caring, humble man who worked hard, and took nothing for granted. He has made the lives of many people better through his leadership, compassion, sense of humor, and kind heart.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday July 28, 2022 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Wally's brother will say a few words from 2:30-3:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be private.
