On March 24, 2011, Virginia H. Johnson of Baltimore and Severna Park. Virginia was raised in Stoneleigh, Homeland and Gibson Island and was a long-time member of The Women's Club of Roland Park and Baltimore Country Club. She was born in Sharon, PA, the eldest daughter of Edgar G. and Mary Kelly Horn. She graduated from what is now Notre Dame Preparatory School and the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. The young widow of Richard J. Troja, she married the late Howard P. Johnson in 1967 and moved to his home on the Severn River.
She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed being involved in the lives of her six children.
Virginia is survived by her children Sharon and her husband Joseph W. Derr, Richard J. Troja Jr., Michael A. Troja, Roger D. Troja, Mary Jo and her husband Edward V. Robey, and Barbara and her husband Stephen D. Palmer. She is also survived by a stepson, Howard P. Johnson Jr. and his wife Cheryl Ann and two sisters, Patricia Horn and Nancy Moffett, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday March 27 from 5–7:00 pm. At Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday March 28 at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church followed by interment in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
