Virginia A. (Dworakowski) Fitzgerald, 88, a resident of Severna Park, MD, died April 29, 2013 in Baltimore, MD.

Virginia was born and raised in Erie, PA and later moved to Bowie, MD where she lived for 42 years and raised her family. She worked as an Airline Communication Specialist in Erie, PA and as an Accountant for the Prince George's County Library System in Maryland.

She loved her family and grandchildren, John, Matthew, and Heather. Virginia loved the ocean, springtime, traveling, and giving to her favorite animal charities.

Virginia was formerly married to the late Joseph F. Fitzgerald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Dworakowski and Katherine Witalec; her sisters Genevieve Ellsworth, Mary Lawrence, and Loretta Sitter; her brothers Edmund, Joseph, and Johnny Dworakowski, and Edward Witalec. She is survived by her children, Patricia S. Sherbert and Cathryn A. Fitzgerald, both of Bowie, MD and Maureen J. Swanton of Severna Park, MD; her three grandchildren, Heather Sherbert of Elkridge, MD and John and Matthew Swanton, both of Severna Park, MD; and her niece, Lucille Will of Erie, PA and her four children, Matthew, Pamela, Christopher, and Carolyn.

A Memorial Service will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12 noon to be followed by visitation until 3:00 pm. Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD will be private.
