IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Lee
Becker
April 5, 1929 – November 15, 2024
Virginia Lee Becker peacefully passed away on November 15, 2024, she was 95.
She was born April 5, 1929 in Baltimore MD to Henry and Norma Becker. She attended Southern High School. After high school, she worked as secretary for a Baltimore printing company.
Miss Virginia spent most of her life in Federal Hill. She was born on Riverside Ave and eventually moved to Warren Ave where she lived until 2022.
In 2001 the Baltimore Sun published a story on Miss V calling her the "Mayor of Warren Ave", aka "The Corned Beef Lady."
A tradition near and dear to her since 1954, she would send over corned beef sandwiches, chips and a pie from Attman's Deli to Engine 2 Fire Department to make sure they were eating.
Throughout her years she cheered for both the Orioles and the Ravens. She was a fan win or lose!
Miss Virginia was a staple in the neighborhood, and most will remember her sitting outside on her bench with Sandy her dog and best friend.
Miss Virginia will be missed by her friends and neighbors, and all those lives she touched.
