IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virgal F.
Brewster
January 30, 1931 – February 5, 2017
Virgal Brewster passed away on February 5, 2017 at Carroll Hospice, The Dove House, from injuries he sustained in a car accident the day after Thanksgiving.
Born on January 30, 1931, Virgal grew up on a farm in the small town of Honaker, Virginia. In the nearby town of Pound, he met the love of his life and his wife of 60 years, Imogene. The two made their life in Severna Park, Maryland where they resided for 47 years.
In his early life, Virgal served his country by joining the army. He was deployed overseas during the Korean war and served for several years. As a civilian, he began his work with Westinghouse, but later made a lifelong career with the federal government.
Virgal's greatest pride and joy in his life was his family, his dear wife, children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, always involved with his children and grandchildren's activities, always selfless, giving and helpful. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved gardening and kept a vegetable garden every year. He loved telling funny and interesting stories about his childhood antics on the farm and just general stories from his life experiences...he was a great story teller! He was also very handy...could fix anything...and was a good cook. He and his son, Marty, loved watching the Orioles.
Virgal's beloved wife, Jean, also passed away from injuries she incurred from this same car accident. He is survived by his two children, Beth Brewster-Blank of Finksburg, Md. ; Marty Brewster and his wife Kathy of Centreville, Md.; and grandchildren Samuel and Aaron Blank, Jennifer Brewster and Jessica Tyler. He was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Ervin.
A celebration of life will be held for both Virgal and Jean on Saturday, March 4th, at 5pm
