Vida Journeay died on December 12, 2015 at Living Well Assisted Living in Pasadena, MD of natural causes. She was 93 years old.
She is survived by her brother Morris "Joe" Taylor and his wife Bonnie and by two daughters: Janet Brown and husband Dare, and Carol Stansbury and husband Rob. Also five grandchildren: Susan Brown Dubbin and husband Eric, Becki Brown Hutchison and husband Dan, Vicki Stansbury, Alex Stansbury and wife Jill, and David Stansbury. She also had eight grandchildren: Kellianne, Ricky, Justin, Drew, Brooke, Willa, Cal, and Harper.

Vida graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1939. She worked hard from an early age, starting on the Taylor family farm in Severn, MD, and then the AL-LON Sewing Manufacturing Co. Later, she worked at Westinghouse in Linthicum, MD for thirty years, retiring in 1982 as a supervisor in the reproduction department.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her grandchildren at college.

Her hobbies included baking, cooking, crocheting and helping to care for her great grandchildren. She received an award from Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxillary for her donation of handcrafted baby blankets.



Friends may visit on Tuesday December 15, 2015 from 4-7:00pm and Wednesday December 16, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons,P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Thursday December 17, 2015 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment in the Glen Haven Memorial park cemetery.
