Vicki Gwen Poore of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on July 22, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Gwen was born in Dunn, NC, on August 27, 1960 to Robert and Francis Strickland. After moving to Maryland in 1987 she pursued a career in nursing, graduating from Anne Arundel Community College with an Associates in Nursing Science. She worked at Anne Arundel Medical Center from 1989 till October 2009 when she had to leave due to health issues. She served as Robotics Team Leader and Charge Nurse in the Operating Room.
She is survived by her daughter Jessica Stead and grandson Gavin, as well as her step-son's Colin, Jeff, and Jonathan Poore, and sisters Terry Hawes of SC and Janet Gibson of NC . Proceeded in death by her Mother, Father and two brothers; Sandy and Lavern Strickland.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 11:00am in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 461 College Pkwy. Arnold, MD 21012.
