Veronica Patrick of Millersville, MD, died April 25, just 2 days short of her 90th birthday. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Emery Kmets and Margaret Butchko Kmets. In 1947, she married Ted Patrick (deceased). His job with the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company prompted their move to Youngstown, Ohio in the early 50's. There, they raised five children: Thomas, Laura, Teddi (deceased), Jon and Roger.

Before her marriage, Mrs. Patrick worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper. Once her children were all in school, she became the secretary of St. Edward Junior High School in Youngstown. She was fondly remembered by the many students she assisted during her 17 years there. She retired in 1984, and shortly thereafter, she and her husband moved to Millersville. She promptly signed up for word processing classes at the local community college and was then employed by Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park and was active in The Guild for Life senior group.

In addition to her children, she is survived by her daughter-in-law Deborah, grandchildren Anne and Timothy Patrick, sisters Frances Paponetti, Marguerite Kostohryz, and Joan Hoy (Tom), and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, May 2 at 10 am and the burial will be Monday at 1:45 at the Crownsville Veteran's Cemetery.
