Veronica Mary Patricia (Pat) Eckels (née Bogar) passed away on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 91.

She was born in Dundalk, MD on August 16, 1933, to the late Veronica and Joseph Bogar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Joseph, Albert, and John, her first husband, Dr. George W. Baker, and her second husband, Carl Eckels.

Pat received her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame University of Maryland and her Master's from Loyola University of Maryland. She became a teacher and taught Remedial Reading and music in Baltimore County Public Schools. She was a devoted teacher who brought joy to her students and encouraged a lifelong appreciation for the arts. She was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park for over 50 years. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and as a Eucharistic minister to the sick and homebound through St. John's.

She is survived by her children; David (Kristin), Michael (Christine), Robert, and Ronald (Colleen); and her ten grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Clare, Anna, Emily, Christopher, Ethan, Jacob, Ryan, and Xavier. She was a loving and wonderful grandmother who cherished her family deeply.

Pat also had a lifelong love of sports, including watching her boys play multiple sports. She had a special love of the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens, and tennis. She also enjoyed traveling to new places throughout her life.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park MD, 21146. Interment will be private.
