Vernon J. Brown, 90, a resident of Severna Park, died on July 14, 2013 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.
He was born on July 17, 1922 in Baltimore, where he was raised, and moved to Severna Park in 1955.
Vernon worked in construction as an equipment operator.
He served in the Army in WWII, was a DAV, and received the Purple Heart medal. He was a member of American Legion Post # 40.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Brown.
He is survived by his son, James E. Brown, Sr. (Linda) of Woodbine, MD; his daughter, Patricia Unroe of Severna Park; five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 17th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
