Smith, Velma Wanda
On November 29,2010 Velma Wanda Smith, loving mother of Thomas K. Smith of Tampa, Florida, Spencer H. Smith of Harker Heights, Texas and Sharon N. Prada of Fulton, Maryland, passed away quietly in her sleep.
She is the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents JO Porter Sr. and Velma Anne Porter of McCall Creek, Mississippi, her husband William H. Smith, brothers William F. Porter, JO Porter,Jr.,and sister-in-law Charlene Porter. Her surviving sister is Jo Ann Gill of Avondale, Louisiana.
The memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church 4261 Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, Md. Viewing from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and the memorial service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity or church of your choice. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
