Vasilike Spanos Schultz, 89, of Severna Park, passed away on May 3, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis after a brief illness.

Vasilike was born to her parents, George and Elizabeth Spanos (immigrants from Kalambaka Greece) on October 10, 1926 in Winchester, VA where she was raised. She graduated from John Handley class of 1944. Vasilike attended college at St. Basil's Academy in Garrison, NY and later lived in Lowell, MA. She then moved to Winchester and ran the Oak Grove Restaurant with her husband before moving to Annapolis in 1960 and operated the Dinner Bell Restaurant. In 1973, she moved to Severna Park. Vasilike was a member of Ss Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and was a past member of the Agia Anna Philoptochos Society. She was a godparent of the church and read the Bible and religious books daily.

She was an avid gardener, landscaper, bird watcher and artist. She enjoyed antiquing, collecting, going to the beach and traveling. She was a most special mother, grandmother, godmother and aunt, always loving and generous. Her most memorable accomplishment was raising her grandchildren, getting them ready for school, taking them to nursery school and loving them with all her heart.

Mrs. Schultz is survived by her son, Vasileos (Bill) C. Goumas of Severna Park and her daughter, Maria-Annette Goumas of Lewes, DE; her sister, Janet Christian of Winchester, VA; her brother, Christos Spanos of Winchester, VA; her grandchildren, Christopher V. Goumas and Sophia E. Goumas of Severna Park, her cherished niece, Dolly Pantelides and family, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Christopher V. Goumas and David C. Schultz, Jr. and her siblings, Sophia Tsastios and Steve Spanos.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 9th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. at Ss Constantine and Helen Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21401 with the interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
