Valerie McLean DiPietro, 53 of Arnold, Md died Tuesday March 23rd at Anne Arundel Medical Center from a three year battle with breast cancer. She was born Jan. 26th, 1957 in Washington D.C. to Edward McLean and the late Barbara McLean. Survivors include her husband Robert DiPietro and son Bryce DiPietro of Arnold. She is survived by her sister Cathy Nutter of Arnold, two nieces, and four nephews. Valerie was retired from the State of Maryland. She enjoyed traveling to different places with her son, volunteering at his school and spending time with her friends and family. In college, she was a regionally ranked tennis player. She was most passionate about horseback riding and competed in eventing and dressage competitions before her illness. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, March 29 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home in Severna Park. There will be a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, March 30 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park, MD.
