Thomas Simujirlah Wreh Sr., passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. He was 74 years old.

Born on March 17, 1950, in Grandcess, Liberia, to Dominic Donyen Wreh and Veronica Wiahdee Gbalor, Thomas was the first surviving child of their union. His early years were marked by resilience, shaped by his family's journey from Liberia to Ghana. Despite financial hardships and familial challenges, Thomas excelled academically, graduating from St. Patrick's High School in 1970, where he forged lifelong friendships and earned the nickname "Simu."

Thomas's career reflected his determination and adaptability. He worked at the Liberian Swedish American Mining Company (LAMCO), Firestone Rubber Company, and Roberts International Airport, eventually rising to a senior role in computer science—a field he passionately pursued through higher education in the United States. His professional journey took him across continents, but his heart remained deeply connected to Liberia, where he generously supported family, friends, and institutions like his alma mater, donating encyclopedias to St. Patrick's Library.

A man of unwavering integrity, Thomas prioritized family above all. He lovingly cared for his mother, Veronica "Ma Wiahdee," ensuring her comfort until her passing in 2022. He selflessly supported his younger brother, George, and extended financial and emotional aid to countless relatives. His marriage to Cheong Mun Wreh was one of great love and partnership, with Cheong standing steadfastly by his side and caring for him during his final years.

Thomas's legacy is one of generosity, resilience, and quiet strength. He abhorred dishonesty, championed hard work, and believed in uplifting others. Even in adversity, including managing multiple health challenges, he remained a beacon of hope, often remarking, "I am taking it one day at a time."

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved Wife, Cheong Mun Wreh; Brother, George Ashton Wreh; Children, Dominic Wreh, Thomas S. Wreh Jr., Wiahdee Cathleen Wreh-Hearst (Wesley), Ebony Wreh (John), Brandon Wreh (Haruna), and Dominique Wreh; Grandchildren, Eriq Wreh,

Malik Hearst, Jarel Hearst, Toni Teah, Madison Wreh, Maisie Wreh, and John Mitchell Jr.; host of extended family including Maggie Glay, Natasha Wreh, Antoine Wreh, Chrispen Wreh, Lydia Garnett, Geraldine Garnett, Emma Wreh, Rosetta Quaye, and friends across Liberia and the United States.

A private family memorial will be held to honor his life.

Farewell Message

"Fare ye well, Thomas. Your love, wisdom, and generosity forever illuminate our lives. May your soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in perfect peace. Until we meet again."
