IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas A.
Stag
May 6, 1962 – November 2, 2018
Thomas Andrew Stag, 56, of Millersville, Maryland passed away at home on November 2, 2018 from pancreatic cancer.
Tommy was born on May 6, 1962 in Annapolis to Robert J. and Mary M.(Wiechert) Stag. He was raised and attended schools in Severna Park. Tom joined the Anne Arundel County Fire Department in August 1986 as a member of recruit class 22. He married the love of his life, Lori D. Bowman on October 24, 1987. During his tenure as Vice President and President of the Village of Olde Mill Community Association, he was awarded several government citations for his volunteer work. Over his 32 years with the AACFD, he worked in the EMS and Suppression Divisions, the department's 911 Dispatch Center and most recently the Fire Marshal Division. Fire Fighter lll Stag retired on June 1, 2018.
Tom and Lori were season ticket holders for the Terps ACC Football and Baltimore Orioles games. He also rooted for the Baltimore Colts, Baltimore Ravens and confoundedly, as a young man, the Dallas Cowboys (and then Landry was fired). He enjoyed visiting Ocean City and Fripp Island, SC, the art of giving wet willies, being an extra special Godfather, grilling and smoking meats, baking toll house cookies, celebrating holidays with family and especially spending time with his wife and daughter.
Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lori D. Stag, daughter Kaitlyn L. Stag of Millersville, parents Bob and Mary Stag of Fripp Island, SC, sister Leslie (Bob) Zimmerman of Annapolis, brothers: Bob (Sharon) Stag of Stevensville, Jack (Anne) Stag of Arnold, and Gary Stag of Severna Park; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his fire department family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1pm in the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Interment will be private.
In the spirit of Tom's infinite kindness and fierce will to live, then die with dignity, please consider donating to the Hospice of the Chesapeake. With their support, our family had the honor of caring for him at home.
