Thomas L. Shea, Sr., 88, a 50 year resident of Arnold, passed away on October 24, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.

He was born on January 26, 1928 in Mansfield, MA, where he was raised and received his Bachelor of Science degree at Bridgeport University.

Thomas taught and coached for 35 years at Lansdowne High School in Baltimore County.

He was a veteran of USMC; a lifetime member of Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers; a member of American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park; and a member of VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, DE.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Shea, who passed away in 2010.

He is survived by his 6 children, Paul (Jan); Luanne (Allan) Skrenta; Kathleen (Roy) Platzke; Thomas Jr. (Valerie); Daniel (Barbara); Jeanine (Robert) Coffey; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. John Neumann Church, 620 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 10 AM in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
