Thomas Michael Novak Sr. passed away on May 15, 2023.

He was born to Nicholas Novak and his wife in Manville, New Jersey on September 4th, 1931. He grew up in Manville and went on to attend Rutgers, Catholic University, and M.I.T. from which he earned his Master's degree. He was raised Catholic, and his faith was very important to him throughout his life. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Severna Park which he attended when he lived in Arnold, MD before he and his wife moved to St. Petersburg, FL.

He worked for David Taylor Naval Research Center in Annapolis and as a part of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He was a member of the American Legion, and in his free time enjoyed sailing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Novak of St. Petersburg, FL; his sons Chris Novak of Kent Island MD, Kenneth Novak of Lutz FL, and Thomas Novak Jr. of Largo FL; and his five grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday May 22nd at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway Severna Park MD 21146, with burial to follow at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, 78 Church Rd, Arnold, MD 21012.
