Thomas Worgo was born in Buffalo, NY to Robert and Carol Worgo on March 30, 1969. He was the youngest of three boys (Paul and David). Tommy attended U-Crest elementary school and was an avid swimmer, participating in club swimming until the family moved to St Louis, MO in 1978. One year later, the Worgo family moved to Arnold, Maryland. Tom attended Magothy Middle school and then was part of the first few classes to attend Broadneck High School.

Though Tom didn’t learn to ice skate while in Buffalo, he quickly learned after moving to Maryland. He played club hockey at Benfield Pines ice rink and joined his brothers in summer hockey leagues in the early 1980s. That was part of a huge sports bonding the Worgo brothers had.

After graduating from Broadneck HS, Tommy attended Glassboro State College in Glassboro, NJ. He obtained a Communications / Journalism degree.

After college, Tom embarked on his journalism career, working for small newspapers, writing sport and human interest stories and articles. He then joined Patuxent Publishing, where he reported on high school sports and other current events. He did sports freelance story writing on the side and grew his love of all sports. He continued his career at Patuxent Publishing for many years, working at each of their Baltimore County and surrounding area offices.

His freelance sports writing work grew and he saw his work published in ESPN the Magazine, Orioles Magazine, Hockey Digest, USA Hockey magazine, TV Guide, national baseball publications and many other notable sports media. Additionally, he regularly reported on the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Nationals, Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals as well as local college teams.

Tom was active in the Annapolis social scene, attending Navy Football games and pre-game festivities, along with many local concerts and festivals in Annapolis and surrounding Anne Arundel County. Tom embraced many friends through his love of an odd mix of his favorite sports teams in the Buffalo Bills, New York Yankees, Baltimore Ravens & Orioles and Washington Capitals.

Later in his career, Tommy worked for Whats Up Media, where he enjoyed highlighting sports and local events in his stories to the Annapolis area readers.

Tom is survived by his mother, Carol and brother, Paul. He was pre-deceased by his brother, David and father, Robert.
