Thomas Edward Madden, 93, a resident of Severna Park for eight years and previously of Wittman MD and formerly of Carvel Beach in Anne Arundel County passed peacefully on December 5 th surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1927 in Baltimore to Harry and Myrtle Madden.

Tom grew up and attended school in Baltimore and proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. When the war ended, he returned home, married Norma White in 1948 and together they raised six children. He worked for the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 486 until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213, Shriners International, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and was a Past Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel #38.

Living on the water, Tom spent his free time cruising the waterways of the Chesapeake Bay and always had a project either building, restoring, or maintaining a boat. Along with boating, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, taking cruises, reading, and spending time with his friends and family. With a golden retriever always by his side, he rarely missed an Orioles or Ravens game on television.

Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his son Roger B. Madden. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 72 years, Norma (White), his daughters, Sue Addison (Larry), Jo Ogle (Dan), Sharon Barke (John), Diane Sawyer (Jeffrey), and son, Donald Madden, (Carol). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made in the memory of Thomas E. Madden to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 5050 King Avenue Rosedale, MD 21237.
