Thomas Edward Kennedy, Sr., 79, a resident of Arnold died on December 9, 2012 at his home.
He was born on July 19, 1933 in Holyoke, MA, where he was raised and graduated from the former Holyoke High School. He attended a year at the University of Massachusetts. Past residences include Baltimore and Crystal Lake, IL. Thomas served in the U.S. Army in 1953 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in Fort Meade in 1956. He married Claire Marie Engel in 1956. He later retired from Instron, Inc. in 1997.

Thomas was very family oriented and an avid golfer. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Marie Kennedy of Arnold; three daughters, Susan Kennedy of Hanover, MD, Karen Crout of Arnold, and Colleen Kennedy of Arnold; one son, Tom Kennedy, Jr. of Glen Burnie; and four grandchildren, Ben Hackman, Amy O'Neal, Alex Crout, and David Crout.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 12 noon with a reception to follow. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 or to the charity of one's choice.
