Thomas P. Foley, 95, of Severna Park, Maryland, died on February 26th at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena after a brief illness.

Tom was born on January 11, 1929, and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He met the love of his life and future bride, Bettie, on a blind double date (since he was the only one with a car) and they were married for over 62 years until her death in 2014.  Tom received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and was employed by Sperry Corporation in New York.

Tom was drafted for the Army on his 22nd birthday and served 2 years in the United States Army Signal Corps (USASC) at Fort Monmouth, NJ during the Korean War. He remained an avid supporter of Veterans his entire life.

In 1960, Tom was actively recruited by Westinghouse and moved his family to Severna Park where he and Bettie resided for over 40 years and raised their 5 children. He was a dedicated coach for the Green Hornets baseball for over 8 years as well as an active member of the local Jaycees and Lions Clubs.

During his professional career, Tom developed several patents in the radar/sonar field while working for the Oceanic Division of Westinghouse.

Upon his retirement from Westinghouse, Tom became an entrepreneur starting several businesses all pertaining to the family entertainment industry: Rolling Surf Skateboard Park, Benfield Sports and Fun Center, and Park Playce. For their "Golden Years", Tom and Bettie moved to Ocean City, MD,  where they resided for many years enjoying the beach, family, game playing and beautiful sunsets. He was known by all who met him as a kind, gracious, and smiling family man.

After the death of his wife Bettie in 2014, Tom returned to his family in Severna Park where he remained until his final days. He enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles baseball, and was always up for a game of backgammon for anyone willing to challenge him!

He is survived by four daughters and one son - Annmarie Truver of Crownsville, Maureen Pritchard of Harwood, Bob Foley of Severna Park, Karen Lusby of Severna Park, and Barbara Frasco of Severn; and  grandchildren Becky, Laura, Piper, Kristi, Andrew, Alicia, Stephanie, Susanne, Zachary and Megan; and great grandchildren Jocelyn, Cora, Brayden, Bennett, Thomas, Reagan, Hadley, Charlotte,  Grant, Juliana, Noella, Josephine, Lillian and Jake.

Interment will be private.
