Thomas Herty Caraker III, a resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on December 9, 2018.

Thomas was born on June, 12, 1934 to Rosalyn (nee Brady) and Thomas Herty Caraker, Jr. in Philadelphia, PA.  Raised in Pennsylvania, he later graduated high school from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA.  He worked for A &P before being drafted into the Army. On March, 30, 1957, Thomas married Nancy Irene Zimmerman and was drafted into the Army that same year. After his military service he returned to A&P for 44 years.

Thomas loved boating, fishing and was a member of Pasadena United Methodist Church. His true passion was being the "Mayor" of the trail. Thomas was a trailblazer for the B&A Bike Trail and was named "Ambassador of the Lifeline 100."

Thomas was preceded in death in 2014, by his loving wife, Nancy Irene Caraker. He is survived by his son, Thomas Caraker IV (Rose) of Preston, MD; his daughter, Denise Bower (Mike) of Glen Burnie, MD; his daughter, Deborah Caraker-Miller (Ray) of Glen Burnie, MD; his daughter, Cynthia Byrd (Michael) of Mt. Joy, PA; his sister, Jeannine Diller (Charles) of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10am in the Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122. The interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville.
