It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas A. Buxton of Millersville, Maryland announces his passing after a brief illness, on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Tina, of thirty-two years; his two sons, Jamie and Carey; and his daughter, Robin. He is also survived by his sister, Ginger; brother, George along with his wife, Janice; brother, David and his wife, Lolita; as well as seven nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Fannie, and parents, George and Fanny Buxton.

Tom was born in Camden, New Jersey and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1977 and Frostburg State University in 1981 with a degree in Business. He briefly attended MIT for one night only to participate in a kegger. He worked in the IT industry for the past 30 years, most recently as a program director at Alta IT services.

Tom loved being with his family. He shared his love of hockey with them, whether it was playing on a rec team with his brother, or watching his beloved Capitals win the Stanley Cup. Tom was also the #1 fan of all of his children's teams and attended every game. From being the clock manager to an assistant coach, Tom was always involved. A music lover, Tom and Tina's go-to date night was attending concerts at Ram's Head on Stage. He adored his time in Rehoboth Beach and his ritual of riding his bike to the boardwalk each morning for his scrapple sandwich from Gus n' Gus. Most of all, Tom will be remembered for his unique sense of humor that everyone loved, even though they rarely "got" it. Tom always had a kind word, a warm smile, and a generous heart. All who knew him understood that the most important thing to him was his family and friends. He will be missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Elks Club located at 160 Truck House Road in Severna Park, MD from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M.
