Thomas E. Bohmer, 77, of Arnold, died of cancer June 2 at his home.
Mr. Bohmer was born Dec. 16, 1929, in the Bronx, N.Y., and served in the Air Force as an Air Police sergeant from 1948 to 1952.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in electronic engineering from Indiana Technical College in 1960. He worked for Kollsman Instrument Corp. in New London, Conn., and at Cape Canaveral, Fla., on NASA's Apollo program, and from 1971 until retiring in 1991 for Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Linthicum.
His passionate hobby was painting and he also enjoyed travel, sports and the Chesapeake Bay.
Surviving are his wife of more than 49 years, Helen Bohmer; three children, Charlotte Ross of Huntingtown, Thomas Bohmer III of Indianapolis, Ind., and Robert Bohmer of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church in Arnold. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
