Thomas Lester Beetle, 56, a 25 year resident of Arnold, MD died at home on December 18, 2008, due to natural causes.
He was born on August 15, 1952 in Newark, NJ and raised in Connecticut. He was a long time resident of Arnold, MD since 1983.
Mr. Beetle graduated from Holy Cross College in May 1974. He was formerly the Vice President of Commerce Bank in Calverton, MD and had the opportunity to visit Micronesia, Italy, Portugal, and England through business.
He attended the ROTC program @ Holy Cross College. Upon graduation from Holy Cross College in 1974, he was commissioned Ensign in US Navy. His first assignment after Navy Supply Corp School in Athens, GA was on the USS Horne Cg-30 in California from 1975-1977. In 1977, he was stationed at Anacostia in District of Columbia until 1979 when he ended active duty status. He was in reserve status until 1986 and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Beetle was involved in the Jaycees from 1979-1981 in New Jersey. He was a dedicated and loving father who enjoyed participating in scouting activities and coached GARCI baseball on his sons' teams. His favorite hobby was bass fishing and he was a long time member of the Maryland B.A.S.S. Association.
He is survived by his wife, Diane G. Beetle, who he married on June 1, 1974.
Also, survived by his two sons, Michael Beetle of Arnold, MD and Tim Beetle of Ellicott City, MD; one daughter, Ashley Donovan of Crofton, MD; and one granddaughter, Mackenzie Beetle.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 29, from 3-6 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 6:00 pm. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
