Theresa Ditzel
Theresa E. Ditzel, 84, of Severna Park, died of natural causes Feb. 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born March 15, 1920, in Baltimore and reared in Leonardtown, Mrs. Ditzel was the last surviving sibling of nine children and an avid swimmer and homemaker.
She was a member of the Friendship Club and a longtime volunteer and member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Colonial Beach, Va., where she lived for 20 years.
Her husband, Leroy A. Ditzel, died in 1987.
Surviving are three sons, Leroy A. Ditzel Jr. of Hampstead, Jerry J. Ditzel of Severna Park and Ronald P. Ditzel of East Booth Bay, Maine; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where memorial services will follow at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be private. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Colonial Beach.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 175, Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
