Theodore "Ted" Patrick, 88, a resident of Millersville, MD for over 23 years died at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD on July 15, 2009 of natural causes.
Mr. Patrick was born on June 3, 1921 to Trofin Patrick and Mary Zemba in Cleveland OH, where he was also raised. Prior to moving to Millersville, Mr. Patrick resided for many years in Youngstown, OH.
Mr. Patrick served in the US Army in Europe during World War II as a reconnaisance officer, and later, as a field artillery unit commander with the 3rd Armored Field Artillery, rising to the rank of captain.
After the war, he attended Fenn College-now Cleveland State University-on the GI Bill, graduating there with a degree in business administration. He joined the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. as an instructor in the company's economics department and was appointed supervisor of training for the Youngstown district in 1959. He was Director of Training for that company from 1967 until his retirement.
Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Veronica Kmetz Patrick; his daughter, Laura M. Patrick of Baltimore, MD; his sons, Thomas D. Patrick of Baltimore, MD, Jon M. Patrick of Millersville, Roger W. Patrick and daughter-in-law Deborah Patrick of Annandale, VA; grandchildren Anne and Timothy; brothers Ladimer Patrick of Kettering, OH, Lawrence Patrick of Parma, OH, George Patrick of Rio Rancho, NM and many loved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy on Sunday July 19, 2009 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A celebration of life funeral mass will be held on Monday July 20 at 12 Noon at the Church of Saint John the Evangelist, 689 Ritchie Hwy, SE, Severna Park, MD.
