Theodore "Ted" Kuchta
Ted Kuchta passed away Saturday October 23, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old. He is survived by his wife Ann, daughters Lauretta Flynn and Janice Carr, and son Steven Kuchta. He is preceded in death by his son Ted Kuchta, Jr. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grand children.
He and his wife were, for many years, owners of the popular Catonsville restaurant and night club "Westview Lounge" and the "White Marlin" in Ocean City. In his spare time he was an avid and well known sports fisherman, spending many hours enjoying the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic waters with his family and friends.
Ted was born in Baltimore in March, 1931. He served with distinction in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his valor and bravery in combat in France and Germany. After the war he and Ann opened the "Kozy Klub", a small neighborhood bar and restaurant in Irvington and then move on to the "Westview" in 1963. He retired from the business in 2004.
A visitation will be held on Thursday October 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8:00pm in the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be on Friday October 28 at 9:00am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
