He attended Brooklyn Park Middle and High Schools then graduated from Northeast High School. He played football and lacrosse at both schools. He attended Anne Arundel Community College and Capital College to earn a degree in electrical engineering.

His extremely active life included playing lacrosse, snow skiing, diving, sailing, bicycling, and doing home repairs. He also enjoyed reading, listening to music, and most of all, spending time with his family. He coached Green Hornets soccer and lacrosse for 12 years. He belonged to Heros Lacrosse and the Severna Park Peloton.

In 1994, Terry joined ARINC, Inc. in Annapolis to establish a systems integration business in the surface transportation department. As the Senior Director, Rail Systems Integration, Terry was responsible for the business development and project management of this new group. During the past 15 years, Terry became a nationally recognized expert in the field of dispatch and control systems for transit, commuter and passenger railroads. He successfully built ARINC's railroad systems integration business into the industry leader in the US.

Prior to ARINC, Terry worked for the Maryland Transit Administration for 10 years. He began his career there as a train control technician in heavy rail. During his tenure, he worked his way up to train control supervisor and systems maintenance foreman. His work included engineering and project management on a variety of MTA rail programs.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie S. Hankins; two daughters, Brittany and Shannon of Severna Park; two step-children, Christopher and Alison Hankins of Severna Park; his parents, Richard and Jean Robinson of Pasadena; and one sister, Brenda Myett also of Pasadena.
