Suzanne Mary Schanken Hartman, 74, a former resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away on December 16, 2021 in Taneytown, Maryland.

Suzanne was born to her parents, Clarence Edward Schanken, Jr. and Isabelle Theresa Reger on February 21, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland and was raised in Violetville, Maryland. She graduated at St. Martins High School in Baltimore City and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown, MD. Suzanne then went on to become a Financial Secretary for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools and was employed at Cape Saint Claire Elementary School. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with her friends and family. Suzanne was a very loving grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles (Buddy) Hartman; her daughter, Kimberly Hughes (James) of Millersville, Maryland; daughter-in-law, April Lusby; sister, Bernadette Knopf (Richard) of Stevensville, Maryland; sister, Mary Hayden (Newton) of Severna Park, Maryland; brother, Paul Schanken (Betsy) of Crownsville, Maryland; step-grandson, Larry Jacobs; grandson, Alexander Hartman; granddaughter, Lilly Hughes; and grandson; James Hughes. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Hartman.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home and Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, Maryland 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Chesapeake, 8325 Ventnor Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Interment at Glen Haven Cemetery

The family is requesting anyone wishing to attend the viewing or Mass to please wear a mask.
